High-level about YQG Digital:

  • YQG Digital is a growing marketing team based in Windsor-Essex with two years of real momentum
  • We work with local, service-based businesses to build credible, modern, conversion-focused websites
  • We prioritize clarity, usability, and results over overdesigned or trend-chasing visuals
  • We move fast, care deeply about our clients, and take pride in work that actually drives business growth

We’re hiring a Social Media Manager & Content Creator to build and scale our digital presence across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.

This is a hands-on, content-first role. You’ll be out in the community capturing real moments, creating short-form video and photo content, and publishing thoughtful, platform-appropriate posts — not sitting behind a desk all day.

You’ll manage content for our growing brand portfolio, focusing on quality and following best practices per platform.

This role is designed to grow into our in-house authority on social media. You’ll start by owning execution, and as you develop mastery, you’ll take on more strategic responsibility and influence across the company.

This is a part-time position (20 hours/week) with the potential to transition to full-time based on growth and performance—or we may bring on the right candidate as full-time from day one.

Here’s what it actually looks like: you’re driving around Windsor-Essex, hanging out with people, capturing authentic moments, and creating content that builds real brands. You’ll shoot, create, edit, and post original content daily. You’ll manage community engagement, respond to comments, and build a loyal audience. You’ll head out to business events and community happenings to capture content and film client testimonial interviews. Basically, if it involves creating dope content, you’re doing it.

What You’ll Do

Create & Edit Content

  • Capture high-quality short-form video, photos, and behind-the-scenes content
  • Edit content for each platform (Reels, TikToks, Shorts, etc.)
  • Create content that feels authentic, human, and on-brand — not forced or overproduced

Publish & Manage Social Channels

  • Manage posting schedules across platforms based on best practices
  • Write captions, select visuals, and publish content with attention to detail
  • Maintain consistency in tone, style, and quality

Community Engagement

  • Engage authentically with followers through comments and messages
  • Build real visibility by commenting, sharing, and participating in local conversations online
  • Help our brands feel present and connected within the Windsor-Essex community, not just “posted and gone”

Capture Real-World Brand Moments

  • Attend business events and community happenings in Windsor-Essex
  • Film client testimonials and authentic brand stories
  • Be comfortable occasionally appearing on camera when appropriate

Learn, Observe, and Improve

  • Pay attention to trends, platform changes, and content patterns
  • Learn what works, what doesn’t, and why
  • Gradually contribute ideas and insights that support broader business goals

Growth Path

Part-time → Full-time transition based on performance and growth metrics. Or, if you’re the right fit, you could start full-time from day one. As we scale, so do your opportunities and responsibilities within the company. We’d love it if you followed this progression:

Stage 1: Execution & Craft

You’ll focus on learning our brands, audiences, and standards while owning content creation and posting.

Stage 2: Strategic Contribution

As you gain confidence and trust, you’ll begin proposing content ideas, spotting trends worth leveraging, and improving performance through iteration.

Stage 3: In-House Social Media Authority

Long-term, you become our go-to person for social media — helping set best practices, advising on platform changes, and guiding creative direction across brands.

Who We’re Looking For

You’re a self-starter who doesn’t need hand-holding. You understand what makes content resonate and build brands—not just what goes viral, but what lasts. You have a deep appreciation for Windsor-Essex. You actually like it here. You understand the nuances of the city—there’s always construction, the winters are long, the Harrow fruit stand is amazing, Kava Café & Bakery in LaSalle is an 11/10, and community matters. You’re someone who wants to be a part of helping WE thrive.

You’re the type who genuinely loves connecting with people, and it shows. Here’s the big one: you care about doing good work. Not because someone’s watching. Not because you’re trying to pad your resume. Because you actually want to create something meaningful.

Must-Have Skills & Qualities

  • Proven ability to create, edit, and post high-quality reels and social content (your portfolio should speak for itself)
  • Deep appreciation for building brands and understanding what resonates with people
  • Strong people skills and a genuine love for community building
  • Experience with content editing software (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, etc.)
  • Portfolio of reels or Instagram account(s) showcasing your best work (this is non-negotiable)

Must-Have Logistics

  • Local to Windsor-Essex – You need to be here. No remote, no exceptions.
  • Reliable vehicle – Required for on-location photography and content shoots throughout the area.
  • Scheduling flexibility – This role requires genuine adaptability. You might be filming at 7 AM or 7 PM, depending on what’s happening. But here’s the good part: we offer flexibility throughout the day so you can build a schedule that works for you, not against you.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with paid social media advertising (if you understand how to scale with ads, that’s a bonus)
  • Facebook and YouTube content experience (we want to be on all platforms, not just Instagram)
  • Drone videography and photography (aerial content is a game-changer)
  • Video production or cinematography skills (the more you know, the better)
  • Understanding of analytics and performance metrics (knowing your numbers is always a win)

This Role Probably Isn’t for You If…

  • You don’t like social media
  • You don’t like talking to people
  • You don’t pay attention to details
  • You struggle with communication or following through
  • You want rigid hours or remote-only work

What You’ll Get

  • Creative freedom and autonomy – You own your work. No micromanagement, no design-by-committee nightmares, no endless approval chains.
  • Equipment provided – All the tools you need to create at a professional level. Phone, cameras, whatever makes your job better.
  • A young, ambitious team – People who actually care about what they do. We’ve got folks with different strengths, different styles, and that’s all part of the charm. What matters is the work and the vibe.
  • Real flexibility – We trust you to get the work done. No one’s timing your bathroom breaks or asking where you were for 20 minutes.
  • A role that grows with you – Your responsibilities and compensation will adapt as you grow and as the company grows. You’re not stuck in the same lane forever.
  • $45,000-$65,000 annually (full-time equivalent) – Competitive compensation that reflects your actual value.
  • Bonuses – We share the wins when things go well.
  • Professional development & personal success – We want you to grow as a creator and as a person.

Timeline: We’re looking to fill this role around mid-February 2026.

Location: Windsor-Essex, Ontario
Position Type: Part-Time (20 hrs/ week, with full-time potential)
Reports To: Leadership Team

We’re hiring a Web & Graphic Designer with a strong foundation in website design and a secondary skill set in brand and graphic design.

This is a design-focused role — you will not be expected to build or develop websites. Your responsibility is to design clean, buildable, conversion-focused websites in Figma, then hand them off clearly to our developers for implementation.

You’ll also create supporting brand assets such as logos, typography systems, colour palettes, and simple brand packages — but web design is the core of this role.

This is a part-time position with an eventual transition to full-time (or immediate full-time for the right candidate). For the right person, this could evolve into a larger role with more ownership and influence over time.

What You’ll Do

Website Design (Primary Focus)

  • Design custom, conversion-focused websites for client projects using Figma
  • Create thoughtful layouts, page hierarchies, and user flows that prioritize clarity and usability
  • Design with implementation in mind (clean structure, realistic components, alignment and hierarchy in line with how HTML is naturally structured)
  • Prepare organized, well-documented Figma files for seamless dev handoff
  • Iterate on designs based on internal feedback and client revisions

Brand & Graphic Design (Secondary Focus)

  • Create logos and brand packages (typography, colour palettes, basic visual systems)
  • Design supporting assets for web projects and internal YQG brands
  • Ensure brand consistency across digital touchpoints

AI-Assisted Visual Creation

  • Use AI image-generation tools (Freepik, Google AI Studio, etc.) to support design work
  • Blend AI assets thoughtfully into web and brand designs (not generic, not lazy)

Collaboration & Execution

  • Work closely with our internal team to refine designs and meet deadlines
  • Incorporate feedback efficiently without losing design integrity
  • Manage multiple projects while maintaining speed and attention to detail

Growth Path

This role is designed to grow with the company:

Stage 1: Execution & Ownership
You’ll gradually take ownership of website and brand design projects, learning our standards and client needs.

Stage 2: Creative Leadership
As trust builds, you’ll help shape design systems, improve workflows, and elevate overall design quality.

Stage 3: Design Authority
Long-term, you may mentor additional designers and help define the company’s creative direction.

Who We’re Looking For

You’re an independent, reliable designer who can be trusted with real responsibility. You understand that good design isn’t about showing off — it’s about communicating.

You move fast, pay attention to details, and can make decisions independently. You don’t overcomplicate things, and you’re comfortable working on practical website designs for real businesses.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

  • Strong web design portfolio (non-negotiable)
  • Proven experience designing websites in Figma
  • Solid understanding of conversion-focused design (UX, layout, hierarchy)
  • Experience in handing off designs to developers
  • Ability to build simple, clean brand systems (logos, typography, colour palettes)
  • Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Familiarity with AI image-generation tools or an eagerness to learn quickly

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience designing for local or service-based businesses
  • AI video or motion design capabilities
  • Prior agency or multi-client experience

Logistics

  • Location: Remote
  • Position Type: Part-Time with full-time potential
  • Schedule: Primarily standard business hours with some flexibility
  • Occasional early mornings or later evenings to meet deadlines when needed
  • Reports To: Leadership Team

This Role Probably Isn’t for You If…

  • You don’t enjoy designing websites
  • You need constant direction or hand-holding
  • You’re allergic to feedback
  • You’re more interested in design theory than execution
  • You want rigid hours with zero flexibility

What You’ll Get

  • Real ownership over your work
  • A growing role with long-term upside
  • A team that values speed, clarity, and good taste
  • Flexible schedule built around getting work done, not clock-watching
  • Competitive compensation with big growth potential
  • Opportunities to expand your responsibilities as the company scales
